    Noise! Noise! Noise!

This Event Represents A Protest Against The Status Quo Here In Amerikkka
Specifically It Aims To Confront And Condemn The Democratic Party's
    Political Platform On Criminal "Justice"

    Including:
    • The Racism And Classism Of The Criminal "Justice" System

The United States has a legacy of racism towards Native Americans, African Americans, and Latinos. Currently, that legacy manifests itself as the millions of Blacks and Latino people, particularly youth, who are arrested, prosecuted, and imprisoned in the U.S. One out of three African American men is in jail, on probation or on parole. Under federal law 50 grams of crack gets a mandatory 10-year, no-parole sentence and the defendents are %92 Black. To receive the same sentence for possession of powder cocaine, the same drug but in a form used primarily by whites, one would have to have 5,000 grams.
Prisons in the United States are also disproportionately filled with poor people.
Women represent the fastest growing population in U.S. prisons. Between 1980 and 1993, the population of women in prison increased %313. %60 of female prisoners are women of color.
In response to this growing crisis the Democrats offer more jails, stiffer sentences--three strikes and you're out!!--and worse prison conditions as the solution to crime.

    • The Continued Imprisonment Of Political Dissidents

There are over 100 political prisoners in U.S. jails right now.
They are people like Leonard Peltier, Alejandrina Torres, geronimo ji jaga Pratt, and Mumia Abu-Jamal.
It's time that they were released.

    • Continued Police Brutality

Police brutality, including the murder of innocent people, is spreading throughout Black and Latino communities. The videotaped examples of police brutality against Rodney King and the undocumented Mexican immigrants are merely the most visible examples of the way the police treat Black and Latino People in the U.S. Here in Chicago the recent murders of Jorge Guillen and Joseph Gould by Chicago police officers are tragic examples of the level of police brutality directed against Latino and African American people.
      This must end!
