DragKing contributed Narrentanz to this compilation CD of live material recorded by bands playing on WHPK 88.5-FM's "Pure Hype" radio show. All the material was recorded live from April, 1994 to October, 1995. Other bands appearing on the CD include John Huss, The Handsome Family, Scissor Girls, Eleventh Dream Day, Barbara Manning, Tart, Ashtray Boy, Galaxy of Mailbox Whores, and the Coctails. This version of Narrentanz is very different than the version that appeared on the "Kill Yr Boss" CD. This recording also was the first recorded appearance of DragKing's new drummer Alex Martin. Alex started to practice and record with DragKing after Cole Iler departed for parts unknown. His steady sparse drumming marked a change in DragKing's musical direction.

DragKing was proud to be part of this particular CD. While Ben and Stelios were students at the University of Chicago they started up the Pure Hype radio show in 1990. Dedicated students have kept the show going through the years and it's going stronger than ever with appearances every Friday night by great Chicago area and national acts.
WHPK 88.5 is the voice of Chicago's south side. WHPK carries on a 50 year tradition of broadcasting from the University of Chicago. Week after week, 24 hours a day, WHPK impertinently endeavors to turn ears with intelligence and focus, broadcasting at 100 watts of power. The station's commentators, djs and program hosts are drawn from the campus and community. Like most non-commercial radio operators, WHPK is required by the conspirators of wealth and influence to occupy the forgotten left-end of the dial. From there it continues to preserve the enthusiasm of amateur radio while serving the needs of the free-thinking listener.
